Tar Creek 2000 - 2004 : The way Tar Creek used to loook before 2004-2005. A huge fire burned down the area in October 2004. At the end of this photo gallery you can see the results of the fire. By the end of the year (2004)a huge storm then dumped almost 50 inches of rain. With no plant life to hold any of the water back, everything was washed away. By late January 2005, the area was forever changed.

From Tar Creek to Sespe, 06-14-2008 : Started out at the old Tar Creek trail. We then made camp at the top of the big falls at Tar Creek. While at camp we were stunned to find a Condor hanging out near us. In the morning we hiking down creek with light packs and continued up creek for a few miles. We saw some huge natural oil pools.

Tar Creek 02-18-2008 : Took the day off of work and went to Tar Creek. It had been raining and snowing for the past few days and this was the first day after the big storm. A perfect day, the temperature in the mid-60's almost no wind, no work and plenty of great images. Very few days out of the year are like this, I'm glad I was able to enjoy it while it lasted.
